College of Liberal Arts and Sciences departments of Psychology and World Languages are also considering creating a $300 scholarship for their students.

These departmental scholarships are in addition to study abroad scholarships with most students receiving $500 and a smaller number receiving $800 or even $1200.

Trip leaders and study abroad staff are grateful to the members of these department as well as to Brenda Phillips, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and for the scholarships created by Gabrielle Robinson, Alfred Guillaume, Joseph L. and Julia B. Peyser, the Swartout family, Kathleen Sideli, and Julienne Turner and Patrick Wargo.

Students can apply by December 3 at one easy application for all these different study abroad scholarships. Students in good standing (with a GPA of 2.75 or above) are encouraged to apply! The study abroad scholarship committee members hope to stretch resources to be able to award scholarships equivalent to one-quarter of the travel costs to students who are Pell-eligible.

Readers of this newsletter are also invited to donate to study abroad scholarships. These donations can make a major difference in our students’ lives!
